Police: Man Threatened Teens With Machete, Bat

A man was arrested in Nashville after allegedly threatening teenagers with weapons.

A Metro Nashville police affidavit said the incident happened at a market on 40th Avenue North. A passing school resource officer reportedly spotted the altercation.

According to the police report, the suspect was standing over the teens vehicle swinging the machete in a threatening manner. 

The motive for the incident remained unclear.

The suspect also reportedly shattered one of the teen's cellphones as the boy tried to call 911.

The SRO was able to defuse the situation. He called other officers and the suspect was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon.
