NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect was taken into custody after he allegedly tried to hit two officers with his car during a police pursuit in south Nashville.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, a vehicle being driven by Mikhail Georges was spotted traveling at a high speed on Interstate 24, near Haywood Lane. An officer tried to get Georges to stop, but he allegedly continued to drive.
Officials with Metro Police then put out an alert for the vehicle.
About 30 minutes later, a detective spotted him allegedly topping speeds of 100 mph and doing donuts on Harding Place, where he almost struck a mail truck.
According to police, Georges tried to hit two officers with his car while they chased him down Nolensville Pike.
Other officers responded to the scene and deployed spike strips in an effort to stop the car.
Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in either incident.
He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with assault on an officer, resisting arrest and DUI.
