NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have released the name of the man who was fatally stabbed in the north Nashville area. The victim was identified as 53-year-old James Mitchell.
Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called to a home on 9th Avenue North after Mitchell went to the home looking for help early Thursday morning. He had multiple stab wounds.
Mitchell was conscious when police arrived on the scene. He told them he had been stabbed by “Arthur.” He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Officers later tracked down and arrested 51-year-old Arther Miller.
Miller was found at a business on Rosa Parks Boulevard and taken into custody. He has been charged with criminal homicide.
Bond was set at $250,000.
Officials said Mitchell was a homeless man.
