ID Released Of Carjacking Suspect

The identity has been released of the suspect wanted for kidnapping after a woman was carjacked and robbed in Davidson County.  

The incident happened Wednesday around 11 p.m. outside the Obama Market at 626 40th Avenue North.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the woman stopped at the store, went inside and made a purchase. When she came outside and got back into her car, she found the suspect in her passenger seat with the seat reclined so he could not be seen.

The suspect has been positively identified as 29-year-old Racardo Spencer.

Police said Spencer told the woman to drive to a nearby apartment where he demanded cash. He allegedly hit the woman when he learned she only had $15. She told investigators she was hit head by the suspect

The victim was able to identify Spencer. It was unknown if they two knew each other before the incident.

A warrant was issued for Spencer’s arrest. Charges included aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
