Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department have responded to a gun shot wound reported in downtown Nashville.
Emergency responders blocked off the intersection of Union Street and 2nd Avenue.
Officials said a man was shot in the leg at Cheatham Place Homes on 8th Avenue. He then drove downtown only to realize he was going the wrong way on 2nd Ave.
That's when police and ambulance responded, and he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
