Police with the Metro Nashville Police Department have responded to the scene of a reported robbery in Madison.
The call came from the 1100 block North Gallatin Pike in Madison at the Smoke For Less Shop.
Officials said a man walking out of the market saw two people trying to steal his vehicle. That's when he confronted the suspects and was punched in the face.
At some point one of the suspects fired shots at the victim. The suspects then fled in a silver or black vehicle.
The investigation was ongoing.
