Police Search for 2nd Suspect In Murder at Mexican Restaurant

Posted

Metro Nashville Police officials asked for the public's help in their search for a second suspect believed to be involved in a targeted murder at a Mexican restaurant.

Detectives identified 26-year-old Christian Daniel Arteaga-Sanchez as the second suspect in Sunday night’s shooting of 34-year-old Mario Alberto Garcia-Lopez.

It happened inside a restroom of Las Cazuelas Mexican Grill on the 4100 block of Nolensville Pike.

An arrest warrant charging Arteaga-Sanchez with criminal homicide has been issued along with the warrant issued for the first suspect identified, 30-year-old Juan J. Chapa, who was also charged with criminal homicide.

Chapa and Arteaga-Sanchez walked into the restaurant and went directly to Garcia-Lopez, who was seated at the bar.  After talking with him for a minute, the two allegedly persuaded Garcia-Lopez to go with them into the restroom.

That's when shots were heard and the two suspected murderers walked out of the restaurant into the parking lot.

Anyone with information on where Chapa and/or Arteaga-Sanchez could be were asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Spanish speaking operators are available. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
