Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department have asked for the public's help in their search for a suspect, who crashed into a school bus but ran away from the scene.

It happened at the intersection of Murfreesbroro Pike and Fesslers Lane last Tuesday.

The driver of a black 4-door pickup truck with chrome bed rails, possibly a Nissan Titan, made a right turn on red from Fesslers Lane onto Murfreesboro Pike and struck the school bus.

It caused about $16,000 worth of damage. The impact was believed to have also caused significant damage to the driver’s side of the pickup truck.

The driver then drove away on Murfreesboro Pike toward downtown. A witness reported seeing the suspect vehicle exit the McDonald’s parking lot, 524 Murfreesboro Pike, just before it hit the school bus.

Surveillance video from McDonald’s shows a woman getting into the driver’s side of a black pickup truck before exiting the parking lot onto Fesslers Lane.

Anyone recognizing the woman was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
