Police Search For Shoplifting, Assault Suspect

Posted

Investigators with the Clarksville police Department have asked for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a theft/aggravated assault case.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when a loss prevention officer confronted a suspected shoplifter at the JC Penny’s on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

The LPO told police that a woman stole several items of clothing from the store. The LPO followed her out of the store and tried to stop her but that’s when a man in a white sedan pulled up to the store to let the suspect in.

A black male got out of the vehicle when the suspect yelled, "get the gun... shoot em!" He got a handgun out of the car and pointed it toward the LPO until they could both get in the car and drive away.

The vehicle was a White Honda with Florida tags.

Anyone who may know the woman in the surveillance footage or the man involved was asked to call Detective Rodney Lifsey at 931-648-0656.
