Police search for suspect in Fourth of July deadly shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police detectives have asked for the public's help to identify a deadly shooting suspect.

The shooting happened on the Fourth of July at a home on the 500 block of Phipps Drive in Nashville.

Witnesses told police the gunman fired shots into a crowd of people at a party, hitting 31-year-old Maurice Bowers. He was driven by personal vehicle to Skyline Medical Center where he died.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, and the gunman can be seen running from the suspect car, a dark Dodge Dart.

Police say they're still investigating the motive of the shooting and whether or not Bowers was the intended target.
