SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WTVF) — The search is on for the driver and vehicle that hit a 4-year-old child Wednesday afternoon in Spring Hill.

Police say the incident happened about 4 p.m. on Candlelight Drive.

The mother of the child told police she was walking with her child when the child suddenly started to cross the street. That's when the child was struck by a light silver Dodge Caliber.

Police say the mother and the driver of the car had a brief conservationist and then the driver left the scene headed toward Port Royal Road.

Officers weren't able to locate the vehicle after the driver left the scene. The vehicle has an out-of-state license plate.

The child involved in the incident received minor injuries.
