Police have asked the public’s help for information after a woman was found beaten to death in a yard near downtown Nashville.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the body of 53-year-old Pamela Crawley was found Friday along Robertson Street.

Her partially covered body was found by a mail carrier who reportedly detected a strong odor.

Neither her identity nor cause of death could be determined at the scene.

According to police, the residence at 59 Robertson Street is divided into different apartments.

Authorities said Crawley is believed to have been killed inside her apartment and taken outside.

One man, who also lives there, said Friday that he had not seen Crawley for several days.
