MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Rutherford County investigators say they’re looking to identify those who may have information on a shooting that critically injured a woman in April.

According to the sheriff’s office, someone shot a Murfreesboro businesswoman while she was driving her Tesla on Veterans Parkway on April 23.

She was driving about 11:15 a.m. near Kingdom Drive between Franklin Road and New Salem Highway. Detectives say they believe she was shot by another driver, but they don’t think it was a case of road rage.

Detective Jamin Humphress said they want to identify and speak with the occupants of a white truck who may have information about the shooting.

The reward for information in the case has now increased to $26,000. Detectives say they do not have any leads at this time.

Humphress said the victim remains bedridden while recovering from her critical injuries.

“The victim and the family desperately want justice and prosecution of the person who shot her and critically injured her,” Humphress said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at 615-893-STOP. Callers can also leave a message for Humphress at 615-904-3054 or send anonymous tips here.
