Police shoot, kill suspect who allegedly held person at knifepoint in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was shot and killed in Pigeon Forge after an altercation with officers, in they say he held someone at knifepoint.

According to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation officials, police were serving an arrest warrant on Samuel Charles Talbott at a home on the 2800 block of Suncrest Drive.

Police say he grabbed another person in the home and held them at knifepoint refusing to drop the weapon and do as the officers commanded.

TBI officials say that's when the situation escalated and one of the officers fired at least one shot, hitting Talbott. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured during the incident.
