A standoff involving several children being held inside an Atlanta area hotel has ended.
A SWAT team was called to the rite4us Inn & Suites hotel near in the Decatur area, about 10 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.
DeKalb County Police Major Tonya Dedrick told CBS46 that up to 11 children and two adults were inside of the room when the situation began around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The situation came to an end when police stormed the hotel room and the man stabbed himself in the neck, according to CBS News.
Dedrick added that officers had been negotiating with the man, "trying to hopefully resolve this with a peaceful end to it."
It’s not known what prompted the incident.
