NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have asked the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint outside her South Nashville Apartment.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of July 14, at Dominion House Apartments on Linbar Drive.

Officials with Metro Police said the 19-year-old victim was headed to her apartment at 2:40 a.m. when she was approached by a gunman.

The suspect allegedly pointed his pistol at her face and demanded that she drop her purse. After she complied, he asked her to run away from the scene.

Less than an hour later, police said the victim’s debit card was used at a Kroger on E. Thompson Lane to purchase more than $300 worth of gift cards.

The alleged robber was seen on the grocery store’s surveillance cameras and was described by police as an African American man who wore a blue shirt and blue plaid shorts.

Anyone recognizing the man from the photos was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
