MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — A neighborhood in Mt. Juliet was on high alert for a few hours due to increased police activity at a home where they believe a burglary could be happening.

Fescue Drive was closed between Maple Lane and Dogwood Drive due to officers blocking the roadway Thursday afternoon.

They responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a home in the 300 block of Fescue Drive.

Officials said an officer talked with an unknown person exiting the home. That person went back in the home, and officers believe they are still inside. The homeowner told police they believed it was a burglary.

Officers stayed on scene for a few hours along with the Special Response Team hoping the person would come out peacefully.

However, no one was found in the home after the Special Response Team completed a search. They said the person likely got away while the first arriving officer was waiting on back-up. Detectives are investigating this as a burglary and following-up on good leads.
