Police: Woman shoots, kills boyfriend at South Nashville apartment

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police said they're investigating after a women said she shot and killed her boyfriend in self-defense at her South Nashville apartment.

The shooting happened at the Swiss View Apartments, just off of Nolensville Pike near Old Hickory Boulevard. Police said 31-year-old Tiffany McMutuary called 911 at 12:41 a.m. to report that she had shot 38-year-old Anthony D. Davis.

McMutuary told police that Davis had grabbed her by the neck during an argument and said he was going to kill her. She said she got away from Davis and got his gun from another room. According to police, McMutuary said she confronted Davis with the pistol and shot him as he advanced on her.

Davis died at the scene. Police said McMutuary cooperated with detectives and consented to an interview at police headquarters. Investigators said the two had a history of domestic incidents.

No charges have been placed against McMutuary, pending the completion of the investigation and a review by the District Attorney’s Office.
