Gov. Campaigns For GOP Members In Tennessee House, Senate

Posted

Governor Bill Haslam has hit the campaign trail on behalf of fellow Republicans in closely divided districts.

The governor went door knocking with state Senator Steve Dickerson on Tuesday and told reporters he has also been appearing on behalf of House Speaker Beth Harwell.

Haslam has also appeared in television ads on behalf of Harwell, who has been tied for the longest active membership in the House.

Both Harwell and Dickerson represent Nashville districts where Democrats have been hoping to capitalize on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's struggles as the election draws to a close.

While Harwell has said she supports the GOP nominee, both Haslam and Dickerson have said they will not vote cast their ballots for Trump.

Dickerson has been set to face Democrat Erin Coleman, while Harwell has been challenged by Chris Moth.
