NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A porta potty fire in downtown Nashville damaged a recently renovated state building.

Nashville Fire officials say the John Sevier building was damaged when a porta potty near the building caught fire Tuesday. Firefighters put out the fire, keeping the flames from going into the building.

But the head of the fire broke out some windows and caused the smoke detector to go off.

The building was just recently renovated. In fact, the barriers were removed less than a week ago and now it has damage to the facade and windows. The cost of the damage and the cause of the fire is unclear.
