Possible E. Nashville Stabbing Suspect Arrested

Police arrested a person wanted for questioning in the case of the brutal stabbing of an East Nashville man who's life was saved by his roommates that found him.

The attack happened Nov. 12 in the victim's apartment on the 1000 block of Russell Street. The man was arrested Thursday on South 4th Street on unrelated charges.

The was identified as 51-year-old Ralph Martin Jr., and listed as a possible suspect in the stabbing case.

Martin is a registered ex-con for burglary and had outstanding warrants for auto burglary, aggravated assault, harassment, and theft of property. 

He was jailed on those charges after refusing to talk to detectives.

Martin has seven aggravated burglary and five felony theft convictions. The investigation into his involvement in the stabbing remains active and ongoing.

The 24-year-old victim remained hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
