NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee partnered with Publix to donate food for "Hunger Action Month."

September is "Hunger Action Month" for the food bank. And the two companies paired up for the food drive Thursday to feed hungry people across the Nashville area.

Thirteen percent of people living in Middle Tennessee are food insecure, and the grocery store is trying to help.

Publix Super Market Charities presented a check for $100,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Store executives and employees also volunteered their time at the food bank as part of the donation.
