Push to Enroll Nashvillians In ACA

Posted

Time is running out for people to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act for next year.

A mobile sign up center was parked at Swett's restaurant in Nashville Monday morning, encouraging people who aren't covered to sign up.

Next Tuesday is the enrollment deadline for coverage to start at the beginning of next year.

And, if you don't enroll by the end of January -- you won't be able to get covered at all for the year 2016 through the exchange – and those who remain uninsured could have to pay a penalty.

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry visited the mobile unit today to encourage people to sign up.

“Having these folks come out, having a mobile unit that takes it out to people who may not be able to access it is really important,” Barry said.

If you couldn't make it out to the event Monday, you can always sign up online at Healthcare.gov.
