Putnam County school officials released the following alert. All schools will open one hour late due to weather concerns.
ALL PUTNAM COUNTY SCHOOLS AND SERVICES ARE SCHEDULED TO BE OPEN BUT WILL BE DELAYED ONE (1) HOURS TOMORROW -- TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2019.
All Schools will begin at 9:00 AM. Morning Bus Services will run ONE (1) HOUR LATER than the regularly scheduled time(s).
School Age Care (SAC) will open at the regular time (6:00 AM) at all regular SAC Sites.
With increased concern for freezing fog in the higher elevations of Putnam County that could potentially impact some roadways, bridges, and overpasses in the early morning hours, the delay will allow all bus routes to begin after sunrise for maximum visibility.
All drivers should exercise caution in the morning hours.
We will evaluate the roadways and conditions again in the early morning hours. If an additional change in the status of schools is required, a mass call and electronic communications will be initiated by 7:00 AM.
