Rain Helps Ease Scorching Heat At CMA Music Fest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fans at this year’s CMA Music Festival got a bit of a relief from the heat Friday as rain cooled things off in downtown Nashville.

It was another full day of country music at the CMA Music Festival. That music played rain, or shine, at the Fan Zone Friday afternoon.

That particular stage is under a huge tent, which is normally a place to escape the heat, but it also came in handy when the rain drops started falling. A heavy downpour happened just before noon, which cooled things off for many.

The rain didn't stop all the fun on lower Broadway, though, and the clouds kept things cooler than normal. It was a change in the weather country fans welcomed.

Several hundred of those fans started their day at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Some 500 of them filled the CMA Theater bright and early to see Luke Bryan. It's a tradition for many country artists to throw fan club parties during the festival.

The reigning CMA and ACM entertainer of the year didn't have a party last year, so this time around he took over the CMA Theater and put on a show for his diehard fans.

The show wasn't just a fan club party, but was also a recorded show for Axe Body Spray. While he couldn't interact personally with each fan, they definitely got a chance to see a different side of him.

Bryan also played his never-before heard song, which he'll play again Friday night at LP Field.
