NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A spontaneous rally was held Friday at Legislative Plaza.
Same Sex marriage supporters waved flags while they hugged and cheered on the steps outside the capitol around noon.
Organizers said social media helped to get the word out, and they said it has been a day everyone will remember.
“This is our generation’s civil rights movement, and today we won,” said Joe Woolley, an LGBT supporter. “We took a huge step today in equality for all.”
Nashville's Pride Festival has been set to be held this weekend at Public Square Park.
