A Watertown-area bride and groom got the surprise of a lifetime on their big day. The band they picked for their first song showed up in person to sing it for them live.

Rascal Flatts is used to selling out arenas, but instead the Sugar Island barn became their own private concert venue to surprise the happy couple.

"We were planning on the DJ playing it," said the bride, Sara McInnis.

But a family friend had written Rascal Flatts begging them to sing at Sara and Brandon McInnis' wedding on their way to Country USA in Oshkosh. The only person who knew the band decided to make an appearance, Sara's sister, kept the secret for months. Even the venue didn't know.

"We looked out the window here and we see three more black SUVs and they open the door to talk to them and my bartender was like, 'That's Rascal Flatts.' I'm like, 'Shut up’," said Brady Robus, the co-owner of Sugar Island Barn.

Sara and Brandon had picked "Bless the Broken Road" for their first dance.

"When they started walking in we knew immediately who they were. I started bawling, he started crying," Sara said.

The bride and groom say even though it was amazing Rascal Flatts was there, once they started to dance to their first song they kind of forgot who was playing and just focused on each other.

"One of the best things was that they said they were going to be praying for us. Because obviously marriage isn't an easy thing, it's kinda difficult. So we'll we praying for them, they'll be praying for us and it was a great, great, great experience," Sara said.

The McInnis’ hope to see Rascal Flatts in concert, maybe even for this first anniversary.
