Country comedian Ray Stevens hosted a groundbreaking for new music venue in Nashville.

He and other organizers broke ground on the new Cabaray Theater Friday.

The dinner theater off Charlotte Pike in West Nashville will hold about 700 people, and include a balcony as well as table seating on the main floor.

Stevens said he was excited to give fans more options when it comes to entertainment.

It was scheduled to be finished in about a year.
