One week after multiple guns were stolen from a Murfreesboro pawn shop, a reward has been offered for information in the case.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in conjunction with the Murfreesboro Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for the theft.
“The ATF and Murfreesboro Police Department want to recover these firearms,” said Michael Knight, Public Information Officer at the ATF. “There are many concerns from an officer’s safety perspective and a public safety perspective.”
Police said around 15 firearms were stolen from T.C.’s Pawn and Loan on Mercury Boulevard on Oct. 6.
Surveillance video showed two people, with their faces covered, break through the front door of the store. They immediately started smashing glass display cases with a tire iron and taking the guns. They then loaded the guns in backpacks and took off.
The business owner is also offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
It was the latest instance of the ATF offering a reward in a firearms theft case from a federally licensed firearms retailer.
Anyone with information about this crime should contact the ATF at 1-800-283-4867 or the Murfreesboro Police Department at 615-893-7867.
