NASHVILLE, Tenn (WTVF) — The first day of the NFL draft main events are just days away. This means many streets will be closed and road access to rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber will be limited.

Right now, companies are already getting the word out to passengers so they can avoid the areas during Draft Week. Rideshare drivers say they're looking forward to the event and they hope it goes on as plan, especially on their end of things.

For three years now, Joy Evans has been cruising down Music City streets, but this weekend her job is going to get a lot busier.

“We have the NFL Draft which means there’s going to be lots and lots of people here and lots and lots of drivers here, so it’ll be fun,” said Evans.

It will also come with some road blocks.

“I think it’s going to be challenge but Lyft has been pretty good about giving us a map of where the roads are that’ll be closed and where we can go drop off and pick up,” Evans said.

Several streets near the NFL Draft stage will be closed for traffic, like South 2nd and South 1st streets around Nissan Stadium, and Broadway from 1st avenue south to 4th avenue south.

“We’re starting to tell all the customers where they’ll be; and Broadway will obvious be closed and we’re not used to that,” said Evans.

For example, passengers can be picked up or dropped off on Broadway Eastbound 5th to 8th, Commerce street eastbound 5th to 4th and Nissan Stadium Lot T on First Avenue between Korean War Memorial Bridge and the Pedestrian Bridge.

Evans says she thinks the week will go smoothly but she has one concern.

“I’m worried about and a lot of drivers are worried about is this Hilton, we’re not sure if we’re going to be able to get to the Hilton if we have a customer,” she said.

Evans says despite the minor challenges she's excited to be able to help bring a little joy to riders looking forward to this weekend.
