Road Closures: Nashville's July 4th Celebration

On Tuesday, Nashville will celebrate the Fourth of July with the city’s annual Let Freedom Sing! celebration.

The event will cause significant road closures for the downtown area this week. All major roads are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Wednesday unless noted.

Monday, 6 a.m.

  • Broadway from 1st Avenue to to 5th Avenue
  • Reroute south-bound lanes of 4th Avenue North from Commerce Street to Broadway to two-way traffic
  • 5th Avenue from Demonbreun to Commerce Street 1st Avenue from Korean Veterans Boulevard to Church Street Korean Veterans Boulevard west bound lane between Gateway Bridge and 1st Avenue, south turn lane at 1st Avenue
  • Demonbreun from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
  • Demonbreun eastbound lane from 3rd Avenue to 2nd Avenue

Tuesday, 6 a.m.

  • In-bound lanes of Korean Veterans Boulevard/Gateway Bridge from South 2nd Street to 2nd Avenue (REOPEN by Wednesday 12 a.m.)
  • Reroute out-bound lanes of Korean Veterans Boulevard/Gateway Bridge to two-way traffic from 2nd Avenue to South 2nd Street (REOPEN by Wednesday 12 a.m.)

7 a.m.

  • Broadway from 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue (REOPEN on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 by 8am)
  • 2nd Avenue from Demonbreun to Commerce Street
  • 3rd Avenue from Demonbreun to Commerce Street
  • 4th Avenue Northbound from Demonbreun to Commerce Street
  • 4th Avenue Southbound from Commerce Street to Demonbreun
  • 7th Avenue from Demonbreun to Commerce
  • 1st Avenue from Church Street to Union Street
  • Church Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
  • Bank Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
  • Gay Street Connector from 1st Avenue to 1st Avenue

8 p.m. (No later than)

  • Woodland Street Bridge
  • John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge 

The Woodland Street Bridge and John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge are set to re-open immediately following the conclusion of the fireworks show. 

Officials said all roads should re-open no later than 12 p.m. Thursday.
