Clarksville Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are warning drivers what to do following a road rage incident where a driver shot at another driver.

The victim of the road rage incident then followed the suspect -- something police say you should never do.

Here's a list of what Clarksville Police say you should do if you encounter road rage:

  1. Stay calm and relaxed
  2. Let him get ahead of you
  3. Avoid eye contact
  4. Do not challenge the driver
  5. Ignore verbal comments or non verbal gestures
  6. Report overly aggressive drivers, but do not follow them
