(WTVF) — A Robertson County Schools bus driver has been suspended after video showed her holding a cell phone while behind the wheel.
Students were reportedly on the bus when the video was taken.
In the video, you can see the driver holding a cell phone while the bus is moving. It is illegal to hold your phone in your hand while driving in Tennessee.
Robertson County Schools said immediately after being notified, the district's transportation office contacted the driver. When she was contacted, the bus was onsite, stationary and had no students on it.
"The safety of our students and personnel is paramount to Robertson County Schools, and all decisions will reflect that commitment," said district Communications Coordinator Jim Bellis.
The driver was suspended while the district reviews and investigates the video.
