Saturday’s heat has already moved up start times by 30 minutes.

Anyone coming downtown for the start – 6:15 a.m. for the 5K, 6:43 a.m. for the Wheelchair race, 6:45 a.m. for the full & half marathon – and parks in the Pinnacle Bank garage needs to be there by 5:30 a.m. Traffic won’t be allowed into the garage after 5:45 a.m.

Those who park in the Music City Center garage must access it from Korean Veterans Boulevard at 6th Avenue South. James Robertson Parkway and Woodland Street Bridges will be closed.

Police said First Avenue to the Gay Street connector will be open this year and First Avenue will be the best way to move from north to south in the downtown area.

Runners and spectators were strongly urged to arrive in the downtown area early due to heavy traffic volumes.

Reminder: traffic along the course will be restricted until all runners have passed.

Several hundred law enforcement officers will be working Saturday.
