The Rutherford County Landfill has reached capacity and will be closed by Friday to evaluate any possible remaining space.
Officials with the Solid Waste Department said they don't want to go over the limit or else they would be fined.

Businesses needed to dump construction or demolition materials will be forced to go to Middle Point Landfill. Residents can take small amounts materials (two wheelbarrows full) to recycling centers.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee will meet Tuesday to discuss the future of the landfills.
