According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, a detective has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of two investigations.
On Sunday, authorities said narcotics detective Lieutenant Jason Mathis was placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation and an investigation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations.
Details on the investigations were not released. Authorities said Lt. Mathis has been with the sheriff's office for about 20 years.
No action will be taken until the results of the investigations have been released.
