MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was charged with attempted first-degree murder after a shooting early Saturday off Mona Road, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective said Tuesday.

The suspect Christian Curtis, 19, is accused of shooting a 26-year-old Lebanon man, who is currently being hospitalized.

Christian Curtis and his father, Richard Denton Curtis, 46, were charged with conspiracy to commit especially aggravated robbery as well as tampering with evidence.

Richard Denton Curtis was charged with accessory after the fact.

Deputy Freddie Brady responded to a call where neighbors heard the sound of gunfire about 1 a.m. Saturday on Mona Road.

“While attempting to get information, I heard someone screaming off in the distance he had been shot,” Brady reported.

Brady found the victim who then gave the deputy a statement regarding what had occurred.

More officers arrived and helped Brady in stabilizing the victim until paramedics took over treatment and took him to the hospital.

Christian Curtis is being held on $560,000 bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Richard Curtis was located by police on Saturday night at his home where they took him into custody. He is being held on $350,000 bond. Hearings are pending in General Sessions Court.

The name if the victim is not being released at this time.
