SMYRNA, Tenn. – A Rutherford County man was killed in an early morning crash involving a motorcycle.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday on Nissan Boulevard near the Lowry Street overpass.
Officials with the Smyrna Police Department said 36-year-old Ross Ullom died when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Ullom was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One lane of Nissan Drive was blocked on both sides of the road while officials remained on the scene. The roadway fully reopened around 4:15 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation. It has not yet been determined if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
