Rutherford County Schools have sent a notice to parents, alerting them that false rumors are spreading about threats being made against schools.
Rutherford County Schools’ James Evans tweeted Friday morning that false threats are being made against schools and that those rumors were “completely false."

Police have been investigating and determined that the rumors were being spread nationally.
School officials urged parents to speak with their children about the importance of not spreading false information.
