Ryman Auditorium celebrated its 125th Anniversary at Vince Gill and Amy Grant's Christmas concert.

Governor Haslam presented a proclamation commemorating the 125 years of the famous venue.

The Mother Church of Country Music has hosted presidents, poets, preachers and of course, award-winning musicians.

"I'm a little prejudice because I'm the Governor of Tennessee, but we have a lot of special places around this state but it's hard to find one that feels more true to what Tennessee is than this spot right here," said Haslam.

The building opened as the Union Gospel Tabernacle in 1892 spearheaded by businessman Thomas Ryman. It was renamed after him in 1906.
