(WTVF) — A scholarship honoring a Nashville nurse who was killed while driving to work has raised $10,000.

Earlier this month, Caitlyn Kaufman was shot and killed along Interstate 440 while on her way to St. Thomas West Hospital where she worked in an ICU. The man accused of killing her has since been arrested.

Kaufman graduated from Butler County Community College in Pennsylvania. According to the Butler Eagle, another $5,000 is needed to ensure a nursing student can receive the scholarship every year.
