NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department have responded to a crash involving a STEM Preparatory Academy charter school bus.
The crash happened at the intersection of Donelson Pike and Hangar Lane near the southeast part of Nashville International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The school bus and a Silver Ford Focus collided head-on. The Focus was traveling south and hydroplaned, causing it to crash into the bus, which was going north.
The driver of the Ford and the school bus driver were both taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There have been no reports of any children injured in the crash, even though the bus was full of students.
However, injuries were reported, and an emergency medical unit was called to the scene. Details about the nature of the injuries were not available.
All four lanes were blocked while crews worked at the scene.
The exact cause of the crash was under invesitgation.
