HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — The body of a missing boater in Hardin County was found on Thursday morning.
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says a boating accident happened Wednesday afternoon. A boat with one person inside is believed to have capsized near the spill gates at the Pickwick Dam.
The body of the occupant, identified as 56-year-old Jeffery Dilworth, of Rienzi, Mississippi, was recovered around 10 a.m. The TWRA believes Dilworth was fishing alone in a 16-foot aluminum jon boat below the dam when the boat was inundated by water.
TVA Police and the Hardin County Fire Department assisted TWRA in the search.
The TWRA said the accident will remain under investigation.
