Officials in Wilson County said they've recovered the body of a teenage drowning victim.
The incident happened near the Cedar Creek Boat Ramp in Mt. Juliet Saturday.
The Boat Patrol with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, and well as Wilson County EMA, helped in the search for the 17-year-old victim.
The victim was reportedly swimming, went under in a deep area, and did not resurface. Authorities said he had attempted to swim to a buoy past the swimming area. Foul play was not believed to be involved.
Officials identified the victim on Sunday as Elijah "Keon" Dotson. He was a student at Watertown High School.
If you would like to make a donation to help the family with expenses, you can do so at Wilson Bank & Trust where they've set up the Keon Dotson fund. A gofundme account has also been set up.*
