Volunteers with the Second Harvest Food Bank boxed up non-perishable food items to send to Puerto Rico.
The non-profit shipped three tractor-trailer loads of disaster boxes to Puerto Rico and was working on fill two more.
"When we had our flood in 2010, people came to our need and there were lots of volunteers that came in to help us to pack food to feed our neighbors or other groups also contributed to that," said President and CEO Jaynee Day.
The food bank will hold other volunteer events to help Puerto Rico in the future.
