NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A second man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in East Nashville last week.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 20-year-old Andre Dewayne Lewis has been charged with criminal homicide for the murder of 26-year-old Ronald Sanders.

Sanders was shot and killed in the 500 block of Sylvan Street in the James Cayce public housing development on February 22. Police said Lewis voluntarily came by the police station Saturday night for questioning and admitted to shooting Sanders.

Lewis was the second of two suspects implicated in the case.

Police have already arrested 27-year-old Christian Brown on a murder charge in the case. Witnesses told police that Brown and a second suspect approached Sanders and demanded money. Sanders refused and was shot during a heated argument.

Brown was held at the Metro Jail.

Police said Lewis is being held without bond. A hearing is pending.
