Semi Carrying 40,000 Pounds Of Food Overturns On Ramp

Cleanup took several hours after a semi overturned on a ramp to Interstate 24.

The incident happened on the westbound ramp from Briley Parkway to I-24 at Exit 18, north of Nashville, around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Reports stated the semi took the curve too quickly and overturned. The semi was carrying 40,000 pounds of food.

Authorities said the driver was okay, but the cleanup took multiple hours.

The on-ramp to I-24 at Exit 18 from Briley Parkway was blocked to westbound traffic during the incident. Eastbound drivers were not affected.

Crews said the roadway was clear by 7:30 a.m.
