NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Traffic is moving again on I-24E near the I-40 split following a tractor trailer crash earlier this morning. It occured at the on-ramp of Interstate 24 East.
The incident was intially reported around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at exit 50 towards Knoxville/Chattanooga.
An 18-wheeler hauling some 30,000 pounds of machinery lost its load when it wrecked on the ramp.
No injuries were reported.
The eastbound ramp was blocked for much of the day. Debris from the spilled machinery was spread across the road. Westbound traffic was not affected.
Crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation were also seen inspecting the quality of the bridge.
The crash would be cleared by 5:30 p.m.
