HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A Hendersonville senior citizen took to the sky Monday as part of national “Second Wind Dreams Day.”

It was a dream come true for 82-year-old Diane Fragos, a resident at Elmcroft of Hendersonville.

Fragos had dreamed of flying again, ever since her days as a supply pilot for the American Red Cross during World War Two.

Monday, she got that chance, and her sponsors at GTO Aviation said they were happy to help make her dream come true.
"This airport, the Sumner County Airport, is for the use of and betterment of the community. Therefore we enjoy and are proud to do things like this for the citizens of the community,” said Mike McCartney Owner, GTO Aviation. “We have done it before, we will continue to do it.”

Fragos also performed stunts for aviation shows when she was younger, one of the only women to do so during that time.
