NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The staff at Waffle House on Sidco Drive are dishing up Christmas cheer with their voices.

"You can still work and have a lot of fun!" Lora Alexander said about the tradition.

For more than 20 years, servers have performed Christmas carols in the restaurant.

"Our guests come in and they're like 'when are they going to sing?!' So, we stop and we sing, and we sing as much as they want and they are going to sit here until we do sing and they are not going to go no where until we sing!" Alexander explained.

Customers like Sharon Lewis described the staff are like family.

"They greet you like you're at home," Lewis said."It's a special place. We need more Waffle Houses where people are kind. This world needs more kindness they really do."

Alexander said that is there goal.

"You have all kinds of people that come in, you don't know if they're having a bad day and when they come in here and we're singing and they're having a good time, it just lifts their spirits and if we can put a smile on their face. It just makes them really, really happy and we feel like we've done our job," Alexander said.
